At the first DIVIA event – Diversity in Architecture – on November 1st, we had the opportunity to present our project, Educational Hubs for Textile Upcycling in Kenya – An Approach in Social Architecture. The conference centered around the theme “Mind the Gap,” offering valuable insights and inspiring perspectives from experts across architecture, design, and sustainability.
Our project aims to address a crucial gap in the textile industry through education. Our Creative Textile Hubs are not just physical spaces; they are platforms for empowering communities, fostering creative exchange, and preserving cultural heritage. They embody an approach to social architecture that connects community building with sustainability.
A special thank you to Gesa Balbig for moderating and to Marina-Elena Wachs for the invitation and support. Together, we look forward to a future where the textile industry fosters not only sustainable fashion but also meaningful, community-driven impact.
